Okay, so to show how great my new reign will be, I'm already late. Oh well.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to look at the following picture and write something/anything inspired by it. Even if that inspiration is off on a tangent, it doesnt matter - anything goes.

Go to it!

A girl lives by the sea. One day she gets sick. Then she gets really sick. Convulsions and fever and the doctors are baffled. She slips into a coma and the doctors say, "there's nothing we can do but pray." So some people pray, while others go outside and smoke a lot.
Then, just as it looks like she's going to die, she suddenly wakes up. When she looks around, she thinks she's in heaven. She is in an empty hospital room and there are familiar voices, but all she can see are wisps of light, different colours and intensities, some dancing like fireflies, others shadowed and slow.
At first she is confused and scared. Where are all the people? The lights talk to her and she responds. They are the people she knows. She feels them touch her, their arms around her, their tears against her skin as they hold her. But she cannot see their forms, only the light that lives within them. And she realises - she can only see their souls.
As the days pass she leaves hospital and tries to slide back into her life. It's hard, not seeing anyone properly, it feels very lonely. Better than being dead maybe, but not much better. Gradually she gets use to the sense of isolation, and even finds beauty in the way the myriad people move in clusters of light, and how every light is unique, like a fingerprint.
One day she goes walking on the beach, and walks a long way down the coast. She comes to a bunch of rocks and sees a strange object. A cube of rock, sitting there. She's never noticed it before. She walks up to it and reaches out to touch its surface, when a voice startles her.
"Do you usually walk up and touch total strangers?" the cube says, and it takes a step back from her.
"You're... a person?"
"Yeees," the cube laughs nervously. "Are you, ah... feeling alright?"
"Yes, I'm sorry, it's just... I've just never seen anyone quite like you before."
It was then she noticed the cube was alive with red light.

That sort of thing... :)

Like the one where they go back in time and step on a butterfly and it changes history? That was just a copy of my story where they go back in time and back over a dinosaur in their pickup and it changes history. Damn him!

for ever and eternity.
I pray and sit and hope
my eternity does not fling me away
into the swirls of foam.
Oh, eternity, eternity
leave me be.
